On August 27, 2025, Fletcher Merkel was tragically taken from this world while attending Mass during his first week back to school at Annunciation. What should have been a moment of joy and togetherness became a day that forever changed his family, his school, and his community.

Fletcher loved fishing, the thrill of the catch, and the time it brought with friends and family.

Each year, we will host a youth fishing event in his name. A day of fun for children young and old. To remember Fletcher not only for the loss we carry, but for the life we celebrate.

This event will be a reminder of who Fletcher was, a boy full of excitement, inclusion, fairness, and curiosity.

Proceeds will support tuition assistance at Annunciation, so no family is turned away from the community Fletcher loved.

We will always remember Fletcher and we carry his light forward, together.
